This building is currently one of the Dutch government buildings but it was built as the Department of Justice, designed by Pierre Cuypers, known for the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam Central Station and many Dutch churches.

I was struck by the light falling on this remarkable building. The variations in the roof, the classical decorations, and the warm red clock create a beautiful interplay of light and shadow. The trees interrupt the clean architectural lines.
